FAQs
How does NOUVADerm work?
NOUVADerm works by delivering precise energy into the skin using a fractional laser that creates tiny micro-injuries in the skin’s surface. These microthermal zones stimulate your skin’s natural healing process, encouraging the production of collagen and elastin—the building blocks of firm, youthful skin.
This process helps to improve skin texture, tone, and elasticity while reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and pigmentation. It also works to tighten skin as well or better than other energy based devices.
What areas can be treated with NOUVADerm®?
NOUVADerm is great treatment for the face and neck but it also works well on many other areas. Skin laxity and wrinkles on the back of the hands, legs and arms are some of the most popular treatment areas.
Is the treatment comfortable?
Most patients tolerate the discomfort of treatment well with the use of topical anesthetic. However, for patients wanting more pain control, an injectable local anesthetic can be used to fully numb the tissue before treatment.
Is there downtime with NOUVADerm®?
Unlike more invasive procedures, NOUVADerm has minimal to no downtime with lighter treatments and up to a week of social downtime with a full resurfacing treatment (compared to 2 weeks of dowtime with a traditional CO2 laser).
What type of conditions does NOUVADerm treat?
One of the standout features of NOUVADerm is it’s ability to treat a variety of skin conditions on both the face and body. Here are some common treatment areas and concerns:
Fine lines & Wrinkles
Sun Damage & Pigmentation
Acne Scars & Stretch Marks
Uneven Skin Tone & Texture
